[She was catching her breath while he pulled away and got himself off. Curiosity would have gotten the better of her, were the idea of just watching him touch himself not so embarrassing. She does at least steal a look at his face as he orgasms. Before and after all of this - he is still strikingly beautiful in the vulnerability he lets almost no one see. When he sits up again to check on her, it felt probably more intimate and yet so simple at the same time.]
I'm not sure amazing is an adequate word. Though, I suppose now I understand what all the fuss was about.
[She smiles, reaching out for him to trace his neck and shoulder, her hand finally resting on his chest as she pushes herself up slightly to kiss him.]
[In the moment, Clive had thought nothing of embarrassment, only the need to reach his peak, which he did, of course. But now, as he steadily comes down from the high, he becomes all too aware of not only the sweat on his skin but his spend, as well. It's less for his own sake and more out of concern for Jill; after all, Clive's body has been graced with far worse in the past. His come is, at least, his own.
Still, when Jill answers him, he listens and even huffs out a little laugh.]
I'm glad, Jill.
[As she reaches for him, he leans closer to make it easier for her and gratefully accepts the kiss. There's no desperation on his end, now, their activities having slaked that thirst for now. No, Clive kisses her with adoration, with words he isn't quite brave enough to speak yet.]
I feel wonderful. You're the only person I want to feel this way with. The only one I feel I can.
[It feels nice, despite the sweat and the dull ache between her thighs that is foreign. It was worth it, of course. It had been a natural progression to want to kiss him and sleep with him. The sweat and the kiss marks were worth it, just to feel his lips against hers. His words reaffirm what she already had decided to be true: he is hers and she is his. It sounded like a sappy love novel, but it was the truth they had danced around for five years since reuniting.]
Good. I would have worried if you decided otherwise, but I know you.
[Smiling fondly, she brushes her fingers through his bangs, traces them in a caress along the stubble dusting his jaw.]
This is... a good sort of different. I don't want anyone else either. It's too bad we'll have to leave this bed in the morning, but I think I like having you just for this evening.
[Where Jill's hand goes, Clive leans into the touch, feeling unable to get enough of it. He smiles slightly and turns his head to kiss her fingertips.]
You do know me. Better than I know myself, I think.
[Clive trusts the Hideaway's inhabitants who are the pillars of their little community. Otto, Charon, Gav, Tomes, Blackthorne. Those who were with Cid before Clive reluctantly followed in those early days and who decided to throw in their gil with him in those rebuilding days following the fall of Drake's Head. Clive trusts them and knows he's left his mark on them, in turn, but Jill is different. She knows where he came from. She knows he's more than just the Imperial bearer Cid took a shine to. She knows he's more than just the man who currently wears Cid's legacy like a mantle.
Jill is indispensable.
He wants to lie down next to her or press his body flush to hers or simply just stay close, and Clive nearly does, but he remembers his current sticky state and breathes out. At the time it was the best idea, but now he has to deal with the aftermath. It's annoying, but he has no one to blame but himself.
Clive nips at one of her fingertips with his lips and pulls away.]
I'm afraid I've made a mess of myself. Give me a moment.
[It takes a great deal of resolve to extricate himself from between her legs, but Clive manages to slip off the bed. Before he goes searching for his shirt, however, he goes to the head of the bed and leans down to give Jill a quick kiss, lingering over her lips to speak quietly, his voice husky.]
Don't go anywhere.
[And then he's away again, searching in the dark for an article of clothing he tossed away without a second thought.
Jill may hear him mumble to himself, "Where the fuck did it go?"]
[His touch was everything. Even just the brush of his lips against her fingertips or his weight against her body. The lack of it was a disappointment, but then he asks her not to go anywhere and she obeys, her gaze following his movements in dim lighting. At his inquiry about his clothes, she debates attempting to find her shift. Her limbs still felt like jelly. Instead of rolling herself out of bed, she turns to her side and tucks her arm beneath her head while he searches.]
Mm. I find myself entirely unwilling to move from this spot, as it turns out.
[For lack of anything better to do, she smooths out the sheets, tugging the half on her side of the bed up to cover herself better with. It wasn't as if she didn't enjoy him seeing her, but it still felt new and surreal. Covering herself a little bit wouldn't hurt anything.]
[It takes a few moments, but he finds his discarded shirt. Good. Sitting on the foot of the bed, Clive wipes off his chest, stomach, and hands, making a mental note to prioritize that article when it comes to his laundry. Along with the sheets.
He's grateful to have had sex in a proper bed this time, but the thought crosses his mind that on the beach the only thing they had to wash was themselves. The sand he doesn't miss, however. That was pretty lousy.
When Jill speaks up, Clive glances over his shoulder to give her his attention, making out the vague shape of her facing him. It's a strange feeling for him, to be desired and not immediately shrug it off, due to a brand or general disinterest. Clive breathes out a little laugh, then goes back to taking care of himself. He replies while carefully wiping his rapidly softening length.]
I daren't ask what rake left you in such a condition.
[His body wiped down well enough for now, Clive drops his shirt back to the floor and crawls back up the bed to slide under his side of the sheets. He reaches over to slowly rub a hand along her arm.]
